Genesis Germination & Soil Conditioner is an all-natural turf solution that uses biologically active, organic carbon, indigenous microbes and organic acids to create the most optimal environment for faster germination and root development. These biostimulants accelerate root growth through oxygenation, chelate soil nutrients to make them accessible to the plant, combat negative fungal growth and aerate compacted soil.
While not originally designed for erosion control, hydroseeders have tried Omega in their slurries and found it to be extremely effective. Like Genesis, Omega is cost-effective and powered by active carbon, beneficial microbes and organic acids. Omega simply has unique microbial packages that makes it work a bit differently than Genesis.
Omega improves turf resistance to stressors. In fact, in our lawn care program, we recommend using Omega in the heat of the summer to help grass remain green despite heat stress.
It's All in the Numbers
To evaluate the effectiveness of Genesis, we consulted TRI Environmental for laboratory testing of the product in regard to germination and vegetation enhancement. In the study, a control group of grass seed planted in potting soil was germinated and grown alongside an identical group of grass seed in potting soil which had Genesis applied to it.
The measurements of the Genesis experimental group were compared against both the measurements of the concurrent control and the measurements of a 2015–2018 average control. The results are shown below.
7 Day Germination
On Day 7, the germination rate compared to the control showed a 1550% increase in germination rate. Quicker germination is key in controlling erosion.
Overall Germination of Grass and Lawn Seed
By Day 21, the seed treated with Genesis had an average of 155% faster seed germination rate.
Plant Mass
When measured on Day 21, the Genesis group’s plant mass was 250% greater than the average control group's plant mass. Plant mass is a true indicator of plant health and strength.
Plant Height
When compared to seed not treated with Genesis, seed that was given Genesis showed a 136% increase in plant height over 21 days. Projects that use Genesis see stronger results faster.
